Open Position – Part Time Health Educator

Health Educator Keystone Wellness Programs – covering Beaver and Butler Counties – Part Time Flexible Hours

Experienced Health Educator needed for growing health promotion agency working in western PA, primarily Butler and Beaver Counties. Required Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, education, or related field, Strong, demonstrated experience in public speaking, classroom management, project management and coalition building. Preferred Master’s degree in human service, education, or similar field. Knowledge of current public health concerns, or ability to quickly learn about them – particularly nicotine addiction and substance use disorders, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, the opioid crisis and other behavioral health concerns. Applicable and progressively responsible work experience, particularly project management. Working familiarity with other human service agencies, schools, and faith based groups in Butler and Beaver counties.

Duties include : maintaining knowledge of current public health concerns. interest in public policy as part of public health – including educational visits to legislators, assisting worksites and multi unit housing sites with tobacco policies, developing, marketing, and presenting behavioral health programs and services to audiences of varied ages and socioeconomic status; developing and leading coalitions, planning, packing and repeated lifting of appropriate educational materials for programming (25+ pounds), regular and timely reporting, and other duties as needed to be a team player. Skills required include : excellent public speaking on health topics, strong project and deadline management, quick thinking and problem solving, collaboration with stakeholders, strong Microsoft Office and Google for Nonprofit apps knowledge, A/V equipment, communication with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, regular local travel, occasional overnight travel (once a year or less). Other requirements: Valid PA driver’s license, reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed), proof of vehicle insurance, negative pre-employment drug screen, and successful completion of required criminal background checks including PA and FBI fingerprint clearances, some evening, early morning and weekend hours, and willing and able to lift 25+ pounds frequently. This is a part time position of 20-24 hours/week. Benefits include: Paid time off, , health insurance stipend of $150 toward purchasing your own private-market health plan (no company group plan due to small size) This position requires a sharp-thinking, results-driven, highly engaging individual.
